Craig Wright, the alleged Bitcoin creator, claims to reveal a document detailing the origins of the famous pseudonym of Satoshi Nakamoto. Every user on the network buying and selling Bitcoin still doesn’t know the identity of the creator.

Wright in his interview on the 19th December with news outlet Modern Consensus, said that the document has an article represented from academic journals JSTOR's digital database which dates back January 5, 2008. The lawsuit against Wright began in February 2018.

The article is supposedly about a person known as Tominaga Nakamoto who lived in Japan between 1715 and 1746. The document also contains the following handwritten note:

“Nakamoto is the Japanese Adam Smith. Honest Ledger + Micro Cash. Satoshi is Intelligent History. Not too hard.” Perhaps this could be where the latter part of the name derives but will knowing this impact sentiment to buy and sell Bitcoin?

Wright claims to have chosen Nakamoto as the pseudonym in honor of Tominaga Nakamoto. In this note, Nakamoto is compared to Adam Smith who was considered to be the father of modern economics by many. When Wright was asked if Nakamoto's economic ideas were one of the reasons as to why this name was chosen, he replied, "In part, yes."

Wright says that Nakamoto wrote about money as well as honest money and even the "rational nature of things." During the time the shogun, Japan’s feudal ruler at the time, was going through economic austerity and financial crisis. Wright admired his character as well as that of his brother, Toka. The reason why he gravitated so much to his character was that Nakamoto was like Wright, "quiet but impatient in character."

According to Wright, the pseudonym Satoshi means “intelligent learning.” This to Wright meant having access to knowledge conquered by their ancestors. This could refer the Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) that powers the network when users buy and sell Bitcoin.
